Not sure how it is where you're at, but around Chicago, goalies are always free at "rat" hockey, or drop-in hockey. That is honestly the best bet for anyone trying to build their hockey speed/stamina. You will be able to improve speed/stamina off the ice, but it still won't match actually being out there and making saves in full equipment against shooters. Pickup games are awesome workouts for goalies.

Agree with above. Just riding a bike for 20 min a day 3 times a week will help ALOT. My game really dropped off after I stopped riding a stationary bike 3 times a week. Peddle fast and keep your heart rate up for a min 20 min.

Biking is good, but the best thing for me is playing hockey. Get into pickup games as often as possible, or go to stick & shoots and really push yourself. That way you're working on your skills at the same time.

If you can get on the ice 3X a week you should see rapid improvements in both skills and endurance.

Look around for foot hockey games. You'll get your sprints in but it forces you to move your hands and feet at the same time.
