Hey guys,
I had a few questions about this Leafs team.
1. Gardiner to wing?
Amazing skater, great instincts, but his turnovers are deterimental from a defensive aspect. I know he's one of our top defencemen in terms of TOI etc. But is it that insane to think that, with a new coach, we'll see a shift from D to wing for him? Assuming we get major defensive help this summer.
2. Clarkson
This is more on the business side of hockey, I guess. I don't understand why we can't bury Clarkson in the minors if his performance through next season isn't up to scratch, ala Komisarek/Connolly? From what I understand (which is very little and is more than likely to be wrong), can't the Leafs send him through waivers to the Marlies?
3. Lupul, Kulemin, Bolland, Clarkson
I feel as though Lupul is not a player this team can be successful with. I loved Kulemin, but 20 points and 9 goals through 68 games this season is not what helps us, especially with his contract expiring. Bolland seeking too much, and Clarkson explains himself. Could the Leafs lose all four of these players, and who replaces them?
Sorry if these are stupid questions, I'm just confused about a few things.
