Some details expected in NHL deal

Has anyone else heard this gem- If a player remains unsigned past Oct 20, then he cannot sign for the rest of the year. I heard it on the espn radio late last night. Apparently in the deal.

Excellent. Stops both the GM and the owner from playing hardball and brinksmanship. I'd prefer it was opening day of the season, but it's better than nothing.

I can imagine GMs like Ferguson, Holland and Armstrong go like "hmmm, what's this cap -thingy, never heard of it before"
