Mitchell centering Landy ayy lmao. Duchene will be our first line center and be with Iginla and Grigs to at least start. Landy and MacK are staying together with Söderberg centering the line. Landy deserves better than Mitchell and a rookie. I do like the Ekholm deal if we do not land Sekera.

This is much more likely and makes a great deal more sense.

Carl was interviewed by a Swedish newspaper June 11, 2015 about his past and future
This is a Google translation directly from the newspaper

Carl Soderberg wearing fashionable sunglasses and a white shirt. He enjoys the leave after a tough NHL season with the Boston Bruins. Carl Soderberg played many matches half injured, including a broken rib.

Boston missed the playoffs anyway and Carl Soderberg got a request to play the World Cup.

- I was hungry, but my injuries affected and then it was an insurance issue, he says.

Insurance issue was particularly important. Carl Soderberg sitting with expiring contracts and want to be healthy before the signing of his life's most important agreements.

He came third in the Boston Bruins internal poängliga, but everything indicates that there will be a continuation.

- No, it does not seem so. To extend with me had called ommöbleringar in the squad.

It's all about Carl Soderberg is facing a hefty raise, to be held during the Boston Bruins salary cap. Therefore he teaches end up on the open market later this summer. The other 29 NHL clubs can bid on him.

For one thing is clear.

- I will play in the NHL, he says.

And then you end up at around $ 4 million in annual salary?

- Yes, it is well. There is a lot of money. It feels great of course, but I have fought very hard for it.

Carl Soderberg has no specific wishes regarding a new employer. He wants to get a role as second center, playing around seventeen minutes per game and come to a team that can win something. Overall, this means that Carl Soderberg could end up all around the North American continent.

Hockey can be played in all cities. So he argues. Not even the Canadian prairie discouraging.

I think he can.

His struggles last year were injury related. People saw Spooner at his best while Soder was injured and at his worst...

He put up 50 points playing 14 minutes a night two years ago and was on that pace agains this year before the injury. I think that when he gets 2nd line minutes he's going to put up 2nd line points.

They still can't afford to keep him, but IMHO, he'll be the best value signing this summer.

From the Bruins board. Wow I can't believe he kept playing through a broken rib. From what I've heard those are really painful to play through.

As I said in one of the other threads, it wouldn't shock me to see him have a great season and put up 55-60 points for us.

Not at all, he has a much better chance at putting up bigger numbers with the Avs system than he did in Boston. Especially if he clicks with highly productive wingers like Landy and Nate.

He's the kind of guy that will quietly rack up numbers making smart plays to set up his wingers with space. Kinda like Staz in that way.

I just can't get over the fact that he didn't want to be a free agent. Sure now knowing how the market died would be one thing but prior to that it's like the floodgates open and GMs are throwing money at you. I mean I'm sure the offer was about what he was hoping for and as an anxious person myself I understand not wanting to pass up something good but you just don't hear players who don't even want to see the market before the first time in their life they can. I'm glad he liked the idea of coming here and is happy about it.

I feel like there's a difference in mentality between North American players and European players, that Euro's tend to seek the comfort and avoid the stress/anxiety/whatever of contract situations while North American players tend to be on the capitalistic side of things. Doesn't apply to each and every individual and I've got absolutely nothing to back me up on this, but it's how I perceive things to be.

I think Soda was in a position where he couldn't say no to a big offer on the table. Having just bought a house for more money than he has earned through his whole life.

Fun thing is that Russians tend to be even more on the capitalistic and individual side than North American players these days, time has changed... ;-)

We (Swedes) for sure love money too and have some huge successful privately own companies and a couple of the richest people in the world (IKEA, H&M two examples) but we still have a strong socialist touch in our economical system and culture for sure, we pay among the highest taxes in the world and we get this "team mentality" cemented in our heads from a very young age. Our Swedish hockey god Forsberg played for Colorado among with some legendary North American players, we will never forget that and Söderberg will for sure wear his Avalanche sweater with pride.

There's just something about enthusiastic players that just make me root for them. Might be the fact it's easy for a fan to associate with a player if they both have an outwards passion for the team.

I fully agree and it's very sad with team loyality becoming more and more rare this days. :-( :-( Having said that I LOVE the draft system you have in pro North American sports for young players, we don't have that in Sweden, unfortunately.

Söderberg is one of the most loyal players I know of. Playing for his hometown Malmö in the second division when young wayyy too long, turning down St Louis and Boston Bruins year after year. I among many others thought he was totally crazy, the fans in the hfboards forums went mad and frustrated. ;-)

His very serious eye injury probably made him stay in Sweden longer though, complicated things.
