Doesn't look like Raleigh will get as much as other Western areas of the state, but to hell with freezing rain and ice. Which apparently is a significant portion of this storm. Tested my generator last night, and stocked up on gas. The stores are pandemonium where I'm at which is west of Raleigh, closer to Greensboro.

Make sure to stock up on your Milk Sandwiches.

Triangle still seemed pretty calm last night, which surprised me given the run on gas we had before the hurricane this summer. Only to have gas deliveries bring back plenty the next day, 2 days before the storm was predicted to impact the Triangle.

The Triangle is only in the 3-5" so maybe not as much concern there. It's rare we have the pre-Christmas winter weather mid state, so throw that in with people Christmas shopping, and FOMOing, and my guess is tonight and tomorrow the stores will not be a place you want to be.

I'm 100% expecting cold rain in Raleigh. Nothing more, nothing less.

But won't complain if work closes Monday.

We all know what happened last time Triangle folks underestimated a storm...
