I'm still mad about this return. Yeah maybe the 2, 3, 6 and prospect (who I admittedly know nothing about) beats the Evander Kane rental deal on the strength of more lottery tickets, but this is still not something that excites me. Again, short of Skinner being a locker room problem, why not keep him to start the year? Why refuse to even talk extension? To me, even sneaking into the playoffs for a first round exit beats this return and the 25% chance of getting a decent NHL player out of it. I feel like now you almost have to trade Faulk to add another scorer, or you're rolling with 3+ rookies in top 9 roles.

I truly believed this team could have pushed for the playoffs with adequate goaltending. Now I'm not so sure.

Good point.

brb...gotta go add a post to the Lindholm+Hanifin for Hamilton+Ferland+Fox thread that says "they did this because they didn't think they could re-sign Hanifin and Lindholm".

Oh sorry I don't f***ing live on this board 24/7 and was out of town for the last week. Didn't realize there was a statute of limitations to offering my thoughts when I'm not drunk and at a distillery in Louisville.

Trading 30 goal scorers away for a bag of pucks is a sure way to send this franchise into bottom dwelling oblivion where it has been and honestly based on how much their team salary is, it's where they rightfully belong.
