So, if this turns out to be true. Sounds like the original deal being worked on was likely Donato + Dubnyk for a 2nd (hence the original rumors), and it got broken a part with each player getting picks closer to their individual value.

Smart move by the Wilson. Well, the breaking them apart part... Not the acquiring Dubnyk part.

If his down year was a fluke, this might end up being a genius move by Wilson.

Dubnyk has not been good for multiple season. Wilds pretty good defense masked that for a while.

For sure. 95% of Wild fans would have responded with "Good trade" to a deal that was solely future considerations coming back.

Not having Dubnyk on our team is the goal, any positive return is a bonus.

Even at max retention I have no complaints about getting a 5th here.

I wish Dubnyk the best in San Jose, but man I will not miss seeing him let in unscreened, backbreaker goals.
