I was hoping Francis would take either True or Strand in the ED for their semi-recent Thunderbird connections (or trade for Kolesar). I hope to see him contribute to the Kraken like he did last time he played in Seattle.

2-way deal, so he should be Charlotte bound. Probably a relatively safe signing to pass through waivers.

I have to admit that I am pulling for him to be a feel good story and show up to camp and impress.

Unfortunately, I think that what we've seen is more than likely all that we get - a decent AHL player who got some NHL time because San Jose was so cap strapped they couldn't sign any depth and have had 3 or 4 prospects playing on the big club every night the past couple of seasons that probably wouldn't make the roster on most other teams.

Gotta have those types of players in your system.

He's big though, so if he gets better, he could very well be pretty good. He's YOUNG.

Back on the Sharks we had him pencilled in as a 4C and if he hit his ceiling maybe a 3C. I think the potential is there but he deserves a better chance than what he got in San Jose.
