Isn't Sidney Crosby bigger than St. Louis by more than a couple inches and weigh more?
He's listed at 5'10'' 175lbs, he's probably going to be around 6'0 and 200lbs when playing in the NHL, which is much bigger than St-Louis.

right now they are

crosby is 5' 10" 175

st.louis is 5' 9" 181

St. Louis said himself in an interview he was barely 5'8 let alone being close to 5'9. Crosby will be anywhere from 5'11-6'1. Its possible to be even bigger. Lecavalier was 6'0 his first year of Junior but come draft time he was 6'4. Either way if a guy is 5'11 he has height problems IMO. Not every 5'8/5'9 guy has St. Louis strength, speed, vision or skill. PM Bouchard a smallish 5'10 center look somewhat like St. Louis but even St. Louis outways him by more then 20lbs.

Rick Dudley himself said he'd be surprised if St.Louis was more than 5'6"!

UH, hello. Have you ever heard of a little think like opportunity cost. You probably have never studied economics.
It would be a complete waste of time for Crosby to respond to all his thousands of fans when he could be out practicing at improving his skills. :teach:

Yeah, what a waste for Ovechkin. He's just dropped so much lately without that practice. 1st overall in the draft, how disgraceful.

:lol :yo:

Yes, unlike Crosby, Ovechkin does not think himself to be above his fans. He loves to talk to fans. He also does not think himself to be above ANY tournament that helps his country--even going back to the the Under-18's after playing in the under-20's.

That is what really sets him apart from the average player. Great points. I'm sure that he has and will gain plenty of new fans by doing this. Heck, Go Russia at Worlds!

What kind of childish one-upmanship are you trying to start with those statements, now really? Those posts are absolutely uncalled for, specifically intended to rile people up, and start another pointless comparison debate over trivial issues, degenerating rapidly into a flame war... if absolutely necessary, that sort of thing belongs on any number of several hundred-post comparison threads that already exist.

All the thread starter was doing was trying to do was direct people to a website. That's all. None of this has anything whatsoever to do with Alexander Ovechkin. Give it a rest for five seconds.

They are both going to be very good players in this league. So what? Why denigrate the one to try and prop up the player you happen to prefer? Both will be great assets for the league to promote and showcase for years to come. We're all going to be better off for having the chance to watch them play.

Crosby has school and practices 24/7. You think gretzky wrote back all the time to his fans? Give the kid some slack.

I don't want to be drawn into a big homer argument, I just think it's cool that Ovechkin talks to his fans...

I like Crosby just as much as the next guy and he has all the makings of a future NHL mega-superstar.

Ovechkin visits the guestbook of his website quite frequently. He visited several times during the World Championships. I caught him there twice and asked a few questions. He uses a lot of "!!!!!!!!!!!"s. The Russian fans on there are always trying to give him recipies for some sort of Russian dishes. They metioned burnt fried eggs and some sort of crackers with onions. Wierd.

Your right. He has dropped. Malkin has definetely narrowed the gap. Every scout will tell you the same. :shakehead
