To be fair Guentzel is ****ing awesome and probably the most underrated player in the league and guys like Lafferty have played really well.

But yeah, Sid is turning back the clock so far.

First time Sid had a winger even close to as good as Jake. Hes the real deal for sure. Pens got lucky as hell they landed him in draft. We dont win b2b without him.

But Crosby has also played the rest of his career with 112 diff wingers lol. 4th line types...grinders with no hands..etc

I will say he does choose to play with certain types tho.

Sid is interesting because it takes certain skillsets to really mesh well with him (Kunitz comes to mind) you can’t just throw any skilled guy with him and expect success.

Guentzel has been phenomenal with him, both high IQ hockey players, I think Guentzel is the most underrated player in the NHL right now. He’s far from a “product of Crosby”. That guy has serious skill.

and Crosby plays on a line with a 40g scorer. Are we pretending Guentzel doesn't exist?

Crosby has been in rhe league for 15 years. Was doing everything I said while Jake was 10.

If Oilers fans want to constantly downplay a 32 year old Crosby because their guy isn't involved in 100% of the threads...of course im gonna point out how Connor needs a topCenter on his line to succeed

The guy you’re arguing with isn’t even an Oilers fan man.

right... because McDavid would be nothing with Draisaitl.

For sure. Imagine those two drafted around same time instead of that Russian that's always hurt.

Kidding...but yeah would have been to unfair if Sid had Jake his whole career, while Malkin was on line 2.

Can’t we all just agree that all guys mentioned are amazing players. And that they are less than 10 games into the season and this is way too premature.

He's obviously carrying the team. Anyone to think so otherwise is probably delusional.

Whether or not he can maintain it is a different story

Let's pump the brakes on ANY Hart trophy talk for ANY player. It's 7 games in. Any team and player can go on a heater early in the season. I belive the term is called "sample size".
Pens need to make the playoffs for Crosby to be considered. Let's see if that happens first.

Lot of players are currently playing on a certain pace that make them 100% locked to win the Hart if they wuould keep it for over 75 games keep their current pace and team success, McDavid, Draisaitl, Crosby, Marchand, Pastrnak, MacKinnon, Carlson, Gibson, etc... it is indeed way too soon.

Making the playoff if Malkin miss most of the season would certainly be a narrative going for him, that was a 6 in the east team last year and you remove Kessel/Malkin from it....

Sid looks like he will win the rocket again and put up 40+ goals easily.

But keep in mind that McDavid is also due, because he's missed out on Hart nominations for missing playoffs.

I wouldn't call the Penguins an AHL team IMO.

We're off to a good start, but we have to play consistently as the season goes along.

The Selke talked peaked when he was hovering around 20th in the league in scoring mid-year because posters figured "if he wasn't scoring then he must be playing out of this world defense" but when he started to find his offensive touch again, the Selke talk conveniently died.

I mean...he finished 4th in Selke voting, so it clearly didn't die.

Crosby will keep this up for the rest of the season. He's the most consistent player of the last 20 years. He doesn't take breaks. When he won the rocket he was scoring every night almost. He's back at it. No 3 point games in his last 5 games just look how scary it looks (2 points again vs Avs)

I'm just calling it, like I called him winning the rocket

Thing is McDavid didn't even get a Hart nomination last season. so he's overdue if the Oilers make it.

Sid is due for a lifetime award though. He missed the Selke last season so he'd due.

I think him winning the rocket is highly likely this season too.
