Really? The Coles notes of his rant is that the Leafs have sucked since 67....which okay? Not entirely sure how that is relevant in any way. Next point is that the Leafs aren't even and haven't been close to getting out of the 1st round....that is objectively just flat out wrong. Next he goes on about how nobody is talking about the Leafs defense? I mean what? Nobody is talking about the Leafs defense? He is really striking out here so far. It's okay though because he probably doesn't even believe 90% of what he said and just new it would get a few hundred thousand views...which it did.

What denial?

We're in denial that we are the worst, or one of the worst D's in the league (because we aren't). The vast majority of Leaf fans think our D is bottom 10.

Basically it says that the leaf fans cant be excited about their team until they win because hockey fans cant predict shit until after it happens.

What do I mean by that?

Means that you could say the same rant about the Washington Capitals "oh they will never win" "oh Ovi can't lead the team to a cup"

You could say that up until you can't say that anymore.

Yes, really. Quite a few teams actually aren’t that wholly dependent on their number one.

Whether that’s through reliable backup, good defense, a well coached team playing effective systems, etc....

So you are telling me there is more then a handful of teams in the league that wouldn't feel the hurt if their number 1 goalie goes down for a significant amount of time? That is just flat out not true.
