Broc Little has signed for Davos through 17/18 so he is out of contention.

Forget about Omark and Klasen, they make big in Europe and their playing style is much more fitted for european rink. I can see a guy like Da Costa gets the nod.

Vegas can thank the league for the stupid decision on the Olympics. Lot's of players won't be willing to throw away a chance to play in the Olympics by joining an expansion team in the NHL.

The olympics are not what they once were, now they don't care about athlets they only care about money.
There is nothing better than the NHL, nothing, no national team, no world cup, nothing.

I mean, many of those players wouldn't translate to NHL players, but I still maintain that VGK should be looking everywhere for players.
I still think they should be extending camp invites to top Asia League and Australian League players, hell even the Mexican League if not just to get people talking.

Thing is Olympics are four weeks every four years.

NHL is all year (pretty much) every year.

Not unreasonable to go for the Olympic team now when you have a chance, and hope you can still earn an NHL deal one year later, than go for the NHL deal now and hope you can earn an Olympic slot four years later

The two or three most skilled guys will be coming from Europe for sure. Like last time around, there won't be alot of talent to choose from in the expansion draft. Perhaps a couple of aging guys who can still do some damage will want to spend their last years in Vegas.

Always thought that Bud Holloway didn't had a real chance with the habs, the guy has absolutely nothing to prove anymore in Europe, he's fitted for NHL. Arcobello deserve a legit shot after leading the Swiss league.

If I can recommend one guy from German DEL it would be:

Philip Gogulla:
29 yo
LW (shoots L)
6'2" / 188 cm

He is a really good skater, good puck control, always dangerous in offensive zone and a hard worker. He once was a Buffalo Sabres prospect (2nd round selection in 2005) and didn´t make it, but imo he has improved a ton since those days.

Stats last two years combined:

Kölner Haie
125 GP
46 Goals
67 Assists
113 Points
+22
30 PIM

Team Germany last two years combined:
24 GP
7 Goals
13 Assists
20 Points
+9
6 PIM

I honestly don´t know why he isn´t in the NHL, as he would bring a decent amount of skill and body to any bottom 6.

I hope he has a big WC for Germany.

Yes, this should be how they fill at least 3 of their top 6 forwards and try and grab a Dman or two. Otherwise they will be relying too heavily on other team's unwanted scraps and will finish at the bottom of the league.

Shipachyov is a great start. Adding Dadonov as rumored and a guy like Stephan Da Costa will bring in some more potential top 6 forwards. This will give them an opportunity to acquire top pieces without giving up any of their few assets.

In NHL free agency they need to acquire depth and veteran leadership (Gionta?) to help this team through the early parts of next year. We will see how they end up!

I still say Vegas should sign 23 year old Henrik Haapala (LW/RW)
from Finland and Tappara.

He led his team to second finnish league title in a row.
Henrik had a breakout season, he put impressive numbers this season,
17 goals 53 assists +17 , he played 6 games for team finland
and scored 2 goals 1 assist.

He is undrafted. Won u20 wjc gold 2014.

btw. this guy is way better than s da costa

I was talking about Da Costa earlier, he's tie with MacKinnon at the World Championship with 5 goals 3 assists in 4 games. He definitely deserve another shot in NHL!

It would make sense for him to sign in Vegas. It's his best shot to get top 6 minutes on a team with little depth or room to move him out if he doesn't perform right off the bat. I think he could be a good second line center for them. Very skilled passer and has a good shot too.

Any news on Dadonov or Da Costa? Tournament's coming to an end meaning players can sign starting tomorrow.

Dennis Everberg would be nice add to the bottom 6. Great player. Perhaps Andronov from Russia aswell.
