Should the Leafs try and switch places with Montreal to avoid Boston and Tampa Bay in the playoffs?

So right now the Leafs are on their way to face Boston in the first round and most likely Tampa in the second round. That's some brutal playoff opponents right there. But with dropping in the standings to take Montreal's wild card spot instead would most likely mean Islanders in the first round and quite possibly Washington in the second round. That seems like much better playoff opponents to me. And playing against the Islanders would show us how good Tavares is when it really matters right off the bat. If Tavares is the player we want him to be, he's going to be hungry for revenge when he gets a chance to go up against the Islanders.

With 11 of the last 18 games being against non playoof teams and the last game of the season being against Montreal, the Leafs could quite possibly be in a sweet spot to choose who they get in the playoffs. By mailing it in and letting Montreal catch up that last regular season game could determine everything.

Personally I would much rather beat Islanders in the first round, beat an unmotivated Capitals team in the second round and having a fighting chance against Tampa/Boston in the 3rd round. This would give a Young team some much needed playoff experience to build for a future cup run. Instead of going right up against the Bruins, which has had the Leafs number for a long time.
