Likely doesn't mean much at the NHL level, although Rychel does look to be more likely to be able to have a role than Shinkaruk.

I really wanted him a few years ago and thought then that he might have been a guy that could be a decent compliment on the top line but he doesn't seem to have progressed that much since becoming a pro.

I remember when I kept saying Poirier for Rychel.... Rychel for Shinkaruk isn't too far off I guess?

I still think Rychel benefits from this change of scenery transaction by playing closer to home in Cali. No idea on what happens with Shinkaruk. Rychel is a LW who may top out as a 4th liner, something that actually bodes well for him. Shrink wasn't breaking into the top 6 and isn't well suited for the bottom 6.

I would hope both guys do well after this move... But I wouldn't hold my breath.
