Under Keefe the Chief:

101gms, 110 point pace

#5) 66.8 pts%
#4) 60.4 row%

#5) 55.0 goals %
#2) 55.1 expected goals %

#1) 3.39 goals for /60
#3) 2.98 expected goals for /60

#8) 2.77 goals against /60
#5) 2.43 expected goals against /60

#19) 90.5 save percentage

So Keefe the Chief's Leafs have been a flat out elite team across the board aside from getting below average goaltending.

Minus the Freddy free fall games, and our defensive results have been phenomenal this year.

Kudos to Dubas as well for bringing in Brodie and Bogo, our defensive core is the best of this era. Also, the young stars have really developed into defensive stalwards, Keefe deserves credit as well.

And to OP for finding yet another way to take a dig at Andy. Bravo.

Didn't mean to take a dig at Freddy, the point was to compliment our defensive results.

It's a weird year... the North is a very weak division. Great year no doubt but weak weak division and much superior roster than all others in the North.

Damned if you do damned if you don’t year for Sheldon and the team. If they didn’t have dominant results and stats people would be ripping on them for underachieving, but even with the winning results and numbers to back it up it’s all “actually, the North Division sucks and this year doesn’t count and blah blah blah.”

This isn’t unexpected, many of us figured that any good results we got this year would be diminished in any way possible. A no win situation for the Leafs in the eyes of the skeptics and detractors.

North teams gonna look weak when they have to play the Leafs 10 times a year.

do you think the Central division would look weak against the Leafs?

Carolina, Florida, Tampa, Preds, Dallas.... Dallas was in the finals last year, Tampa won the cup and I'm pretty sure we struggled vs Tampa and Carolina last season.

This year is literally a damn anomaly..... essentially the leafs were in a 5 team league. Of course it should be looked at differently.

So you don't think the Central division are better quality teams than the North?
Every division is a bubble in itself. The only reason the Central Division has more points is they have more 3 point games...

Just look at the number of OT losses to inflate the points totals.

Last year:

East .597, #12 average rank
West .549, #18 average rank
Central .542, #15 average rank
North .542, #19 average rank

It's not even a weak division, let alone very weak.

According to yours stats the division was the weakest?

But your saying .... yes weakest but statistically not weakest by a lot?

I have been saying this since day 1 this team will be judged soley on playoff results, most of those numbers you posted Zeke are great but they don't mean shit if this team goes out in round 1 or 2.

Here here !
And I’m so happy that we are at this level of expectations!!
Finally, we are slowly getting it !
Let’s wait and see !
One round !!!!!
One !

If I’m reading this correcting ?
Do your numbers not indicate that the North is the weakest ?
Unless I’m missing something ?

Literally the exact pts% as the central, and approx one win off the west.

If the North is weak, then there are three weak divisions.

At the bottom end perhaps, not so much at the top.

Its hard to say really.

I personally think the Avs and Vegas are legit teams but their division is the most suspect of all as its very top heavy with 4 dud teams and an inconsistant Blues team that just lost their captain in the offseason. I'm also not quite sold on the Wild and their insane turnaround as they too might have an inflated record feasting on the bottom feeders. (25-6-1 against them).

How good are the top teams there?

What do you think of the East with the resurgent Pens getting massive help from Kapanen and Ceci being a stud on their 2nd pairing? Is the other team with an aging core, the Caps, gonna go on another run this year?

Are the top 2 teams in the Central, the Canes and the Cats, any better than Toronto and Edmonton? Leafs and Oilers big issues the last couple years have been goaltending and with Campbell and Smith leading those teams, do they have an edge now? Tampa is in the mix too of course but has injury issues that might make things difficult.

The unpredictability of the postseason is one of the best parts of this odd year.
