He's a middle of the road #2 dmen (on the habs he's #1, but on a cup contending team, he's on the #2 slot). Just not worth what they gave up to get him. 6-7 ears ago he was what Bergevin thought he was acquiring at the time, not what he is now.

I mean that's just ridiculous. There's not many teams with top pairing quality dmen out there if Weber is an average #2.

When Weber played he was fine. His problem was he was injured his whole season.

Our PP improved without him because it became less predictable. When he's manning the point we get tunnel vision and the goal is to pass it to Shea and have him blast it. It becomes easy to read. Cut off the passing lane or play Weber tight so he doesn't have time to shoot.

Weber and Price are two players we really don't need to agonize over. They are still elite and will revert to the mean and be just fine so long as they can stay healthy. This team has so many bigger fish to fry it's a joke that some posters keep coming back to these guys. They are practically the only people on the Habs roster who every other team in the league would be glad to have on their first pair and as their #1 goalie. The other 21 guys would attract either limited or in some cases zero interest from other clubs and the ones who did get attention would not be perceived as impact players but merely added depth.

Older, slower and injured. Non factor and in 2 years this contract will look awfully bad. Only a moron would have taken on this contract. Oh wait...

If he can play well at 36, the contract won't be a problem. After that, the buyout is only something like 500k on the cap. So we'll just have to see what he plays like when he heals.

Maybe he will heal like Souray once did but instead of getting a harder slapshot he will skate faster. ;)

I'd say the same as most posters, he's been good as advertised but within seconds the trade was announcend, we knew (well, most of us) that we lost the deal.

Still can't believe MB was stupid enough to do it.

Him and Price enjoying their millions and what they like doing the best, spending time in the outdoors already, while the real ATTITUDE is still playing hockey. Bergevin should have never traded for this guy.
