I would not see it as an ugly divorce, but the reality of being in the NHL. His contract will become more of a burden as the years go by. His defensive play is not great and he has to make it up in the offensive zone. That tilting of the ice hasn't happened yet, and probably will not.

However, I cannot see team willing to take on that contract unless there are a few years of significant movement in the cap. If he does get traded with retaining much of that cap hit, it will be due to a team needing to reach the cap floor.
