It also guarantees a trade coming because signing Hill and Gregor would then put them at 50 contracts and they’re not going to want to be there.
Trade could happen, but once guys get assigned to juniors they'll be able to slide out those deals too. So Wiesblatt, Robins, and Guhschin don't count unless they make the NHL roster out of camp.

As long as those players are signed to a elc/nhl contract they count towards the 50 limit. No matter if they are playing in the nhl/ahl or juniors.

That’s true. I forgot about the exempt potential players so we’d be talking about 47/50 once assigned but that’s also not until September so if they want flexibility between now and then and to get Gregor and Hill signed, they’ll probably want to move someone. It would mean they’d have to wait to ink Eklund or one of the two RFA’s because they count now.

That is not true.

"Total NHL contracts per team = 50 (including two-way contracts and NHL contracts in the minors), players who are meet the following three conditions do not count to this limit: 1. The player is 18 or 19 years of age. 2. Is in a junior or European league, and 3. who have not played 11 NHL games the current season."

Jesus. As someone who's been thru the ringer with surgeries I hope nothing but the best for this guy. Seems like maybe there is something there when he's healthy too. Could be a nice pickup if he can get thru this stretch. Sometimes you just have bad luck injury wise for a little while and get thru it.
