Ozil is beautiful

It's fine to play counter attacking if you're not going to give up high quality chances every time you concede possession. but France is giving that up, so it's unsustainable..

Boateng with like one interception in the French half per minute lately

German buildup settled down a lot after the opening 5-10 minutes. Kroos looks much better in the left half space. Schweini isn't doing badly; he still has a good strategical mind.

Didn't France use Matuidi, Pogba and Kanté together for the first part of the tournament? Why go with Sissoko?

Sissoko can power through a D. Kanté can't, and Matuidi is a lefty.

We're playing a different system with Matuidi/Pogba in front of the D.

DD showed how much he's clueless by starting the same 11 as vs Iceland. Germany is not Iceland lol.

Kimmich is wasting a lot going forward.

He's great in the tackle and great dictating tempo from deep. Klopp loves playing him where Schweini is playing right now.

That's encouraging to hear, as that aspect of his game seemed not to translate from the youth level when he first made the jump to the pro game in germany. Emre did sit deeper and dictate tempo well coming up; but what set him apart was always his ability to push forward. Vidal is actually the player he most compared to in those days; but because he was shining for the german u17 team, he had to be compared to a german...thus the "next ballack" monicker he once wore.

France can't take this much longer. They need to regroup quickly.

Thanks. I am still at work, so I am following the game online. Can't wait to get home.

From what I gather here and from the stat sheet, France is getting owned :(

First 8 minutes was all France. Griezmann almost scored but was on his weaker foot.

Since then Germany has toyed with us in every zone of the pitch.
Lloris coming up big.

France looks weary when they get the ball. They need to recycle possession for a bit when they get it instead of going on rampaging counter attacks every single time.
