No. He will cost too much and has an awful playoff record.
Just go with Hart and Sandstrom.

For 2 years at a decent cap hit? Sure. Anything other than that, no thanks.

Carter Hart is too close to commit to a big contract to an older goalie. If he would sign short term then it would be doable.

What would be short term in your book?

Since we are talking about next summer, 2 years at a big number maybe? Something like 2 years, $16 million (if we look like a contender heading into next offseason). We can afford it and it would insulate Hart and not thrust him into a #1 role too quickly.

When Carter Hart starts playing for the Flyers, it does not pay to rush him into the forefront. The Flyers need a veteran goalie who can groom and mentor Hart until he becomes the starter. Look how much John Vanbiesbrouck helped Brian Boucher during the 2000 season.

He's going to be looking at a huge payday. Big enough that an offer I'd consider for the flyers 4 for 32 will be out of the question

He'll be 31 starting next year, and I'm sure he'll want at least a 5 year deal around the same AAV. We just aren't a fit

If the Flyers sign him for 2-3 seasons, that would work It would not thrust Hart or Sandstrom into the spotlight right away.

I cant wait until when Hart is up and riding the bench in favor of old man Elliot and you telling us why Hak is making the right decision.
