It's honestly kind of crazy and sad to see how everything went so wrong for Ottawa so quickly due to mismanagement. We've had some pretty trainwreck offseasons from our management in the past decade and so I feel for their fans.

If there's one lesson people should take from recent NHL history, it's how quickly "promising up-n-coming teams" can turn into has-been's & never-were's.

I agree...although man, I'd hate to see yet another top pick get stuck with that crap but I'm really coming around to the idea of Kaapo and in all honesty, think I would rather have him than Hughes. So as long as we get #2 in that situation, I'm good with it.

Oilers since 2008 or 9 years have drafted once outside the Top 10. Not only were 4 picks resulting in 1st OA, there were 2 others in the Top 5. This season they have the 3rd worst record and likely another Top 5 selection.
