Gudbranson and Reilly are extremely bad. Gudbranson's deficiencies as a defenseman are horrendous. He can not make the first pass. He can not support any plays. His gap control and coverage do not exist. If he gets a puck out from his own end, it is returned right away. Because all the teams in the division know how to play against his side. He is exposed as the used condom on a floor by other teams. It is really a bukkake on ice. It is really pathetic to watch. Reilly OMG! Everything he does is just so bad. And he is as bad as Gudbranson plus he is soft as a butter. Just two player who would never ever will be picked up on waivers by any team. Both of them should not even have a sniff of NHL ever!

It’s very clear it’s one and done in terms of mistakes for gally past the second period. And even if he’s played a near perfect game he’s still getting benched in the third. It is what it is. Last game he made two bonehead plays. Although the giveaway at the blue line was no different than anyone else’s mistakes and giveaways.

Why play him with better players? He's not good. Why take away ice time for Tkachuk, Stutzle, Paul, Batherson, Brown or Dadonov who are clearly more effective.

I know it isn't the case but it is almost like we traded Paquette and Galchenyuk just so DJ Smith can continue to play Stepan and Anisimov. He didn't seem happy to scratch Anisimov and has refused to scratch Stepan. Hopefully those two are gone soon.
