Nilsson was really sharp; blues got a tone of deflections on net.

Wolanin stepped up and was really good. Still can't believe he wasn't up with the big club earlier.

Veronneau looked like he belonged.

Brannstrom has great vision and a real nice pass, but obviously still has some work to do.

Tkachuk is a super pest.

No frikken way, and a shutout to boot. Man if i was a Blues fan i'd be upset over that one, sure seemed they had the tying goal in hand a few times and got burnt. There was a couple of times i was going to make a post saying the Sens seemed to be showing some good defensive structure. Then i would quickly go, whew, glad i didnt post that. But my guess about how many points will the Sens get the rest of the season looks to be going down in flames. Take the win though, nice debut by 14 and 26, especially 14, that was a bit surprising

This was just the Nilsson show tonight. Veronneau had some pretty good looks too.

OK is that the only reason? ...I can see that looking at the stats but did not see the game

Brannstrom in my opinion was more impressive. He made 3-4 Karlsson-like passes that dmen his age almost never pull off in the NHL.

He did look out-muscled but hopefully he gains a lot of mass going forward.

He didnt have a good first period, but start to settle in to the game in the second. Had a few beauty passes from his own zone to spring guys on breaks. Had some struggles defending opponents in his own zone, and got burnt on one play by Steen, but overall didnt do to bad. You can tell he see's the ice well and wants to create something every shift. It might take him a while to adjust to the NHL game and find out what he can and cant get away with at the top level.

I’m really glad Crow is playing these young guys in key situations.

He had Tkachuk, Verroneau and Brannstrom out on the ice at the same time late in the 3rd defending a 1 goal lead.

Seasons over. Give them the experience. We would never have seen that from Boucher.

Great wheels, dogged the puck pretty well, and looked like a smart player. He had a few sneaky/clever little shot attempts.

He certainly looks like an NHL’er. We’ll see about ceiling.

Yeah, I really wanted to watch Veronneau's debut, but unfortunately I have some deadlines coming up and needed to work through the evening.

Seems like there's lots of praise for the kid --> glad he was able to impress! Any detailed reports of him from tonight's game?

With these NCAA kids, you never know how their skillset will translate to the pros. What Veronneau has that a LOT of NCAA kids don't is world-class wheels... I assume this was noticeable tonight? It really makes the difference for a lot of these smaller-sized college players at the NHL level.

Yup his wheels were on display. Formenton like.
How about a third line of Formenton-White-Veronneau?
Good luck catching them.
He was very smart with the puck. Did not look like his first game. Already gained the total trust of the coach it seemed.
Could have easily had two goals.
He was one of our best players tonight.

Just one game but a good one to build on for sure. Better than I expected.
