Something lighthearted to change up from the boring same posts.
Live in toronto, I play hockey and may actually become a prospect in the upcoming seasons by playing CIS as an 18 year old. Why you ask why I may not be a leaf fan? 1: because they suck and 2: because my parents took me to the 2003 conference finals game 6 and Big Rig sealed the deal for me as a sens fan.

Always nice to see younger Sens fans

I was living in Ottawa when the Sens came back but didn't care much for sports back then.

Travelled across the Western world over the next decade because of my dad's job and whenever I was asked what sports team I rooted for I always said "The Ottawa Senators": lots of people were so excited when they came back that even if I didn't personally care I wanted to be part of it so it stuck with me.

Got back to Ottawa in July 2002 and been a dedicated fan since then.

I was a Leafs fan. Because I am 40. I remember hearing that Ottawa was getting a team in Grade 10 computer class! It was WOW information!

I still was a Leafs fan (as well as the Sens) the first couple of years of the Senators. Being a fan of the sad Leafs teams and loving Wendel and Damphousse and many 80's Leafs... The 93 and 94 Doug Gilmour Leafs teams were worth cheering for. So it took a couple of years not to be a Leafs fan.

A season ticket holder a few seasons. I have seen maybe half the games the Senators have EVER played... Live or on TV.

Whatever. He must be good to play in the CIS. Did he say he even played or had the opportunity to play in the OHL?

University Hockey in Canada is underrated. Some good older players playing. You graduate high school and go to University and are able to make a CIS team at 18... That's impressive. Could be a late bloomer... And you compete witj overagers and OHL graduates wgo are often better then OHL players.

He said he played in the same JR organization as Spezza, Spezza's only junior league was the OHL. I know, it's extremely impressive. I only asked cause my team in the AUS wasn't allowed/never took 18 year olds, that's why I said congrats. I know they take over-aged Junior guys, My whole team had finished their 20 year old season's in the MJAHL (Maritime Jr A at the Time) or CHL.

More than good luck to him, he's in for a great 4 years.

That's the type of roster with some JR. A guys sprinkled in, that play in the AUS for the most part. I was just surprised and impressed how he jumped in at 18.
