Remember to vote based on all factors and not just NHL readiness. Overall skillset, hockey IQ, upside potential vs floor, age, stats, skating ability, array of shots, leadership qualities, size/strenght, etc

Personally, I always ask myself, who would I draft BPA among these players?

Try to do some research on these kids, particularly the most recent ones. People are free to post links and videos about some of the prospects that should be voted soon, or even try to persuade others why a guy should be voted next! Spread info to help people vote.

Players from the top-30 in 2020 who have graduated since (and still with the organization) :

Drake Batherson, Tim Stutzle, Josh Norris

As we have been doing since 2004, we are going to use the HF criterias for prospect eligibility (less than 65 NHL games and under 25 y/o)

NHL Prospect Criteria - Hockey's Future

However, this year there will be 2 exceptions to AVOID massive turmoil. Like SensBrawler said to me "It's a weird situation due to the shortened season. In most years, they would have easily graduated."

So Tim Stutzle (53 GP) and Josh Norris (59 GP) are going to be considered graduated. The panel of Sens prospect polls experts think that the majority of people would still consider Brannstrom as a prospect, even though he has more games than them (63 GP), so he's going to be among options.

Order of the next prospects to be added :

Benjamin Roger
Kevin Mandolese
Vitali Abramov
Oliver Johansson
Carson Latimer
Philippe Daoust
Viktor Lodin
Maxence Guénette
Jonathan Aspirot
Parker Kelly
Cole Reinhardt
Mark Kastelic
Chandler Romeo
Jakov Novak
Jonny Tychonick
Eric Engstrand
Luke Loheit

Wait am I the only one high on Gus and Soogard being future starters in the NHL? Aren't those far more valuable than third line forwards like Forementon and most likely Boucher? Regardless of how hard or tenacious they play, their contribution, value and skill level pales in comparison to a potential number 1 goalie. Not sure if I'm judging this wrong, but Gus already showed he can play at a high level in the NHL, and Soogard seems to have an even higher potential.

You're not wrong but there's many many things to consider here :

- Most people will tell you "goalies are voodoo, they are highly unpredictable"

- Goalies usually have significantly less value in trades due to supply/demand. It's easier to fill 2 spots adequatly than 6 spots (D-men). I mean, quality D-men are very rare, quality forwards and goalies much less.

- Leevi Merilainen turns 19 y/o in 5 days, extremely young for a goalie and not proven at the pro level at all. If he continues on the same path as he did since being drafted, don't worry he'll climb up the ladder

- Mads Sogaard turns 21 y/o in December so he's a bit older, but still young for a goalie. He doesn't have a lot of significant pro experience, remember that covid slowed down the process. If he can prove to be able to provide the same level of performance as he did in his 7 AHL games, he's another guy that will climb up in the rankings. His potential is enormous and even higher than Gustavsson IMO, that's why he should be voted not too far behind Gustavsson

- Filip Gustavsson just turned 23 y/o. He struggled in his first 2 pro NA seasons in the AHL, lacked consistency and had poor stats. He didn't seem to have the level of "battle" in him required to perform at these levels. However, I did a complete 180 on him last season with how he looked in the AHL and NHL. He's a legit starting goalie prospect now. He's going to be voted #6 or #7 which is pretty damn good, no?

So they're still going to end up quite high in these rankings because since last year, many key/older prospects have graduated or are now gone (Stutzle, Norris, Batherson, Balcers, Daccord, Chlapik. Lajoie). The prospect pool has been somewhat "refreshed", most of the prospects in the pool are from the 2019-2021 drafts so it gives an opportunity for "older" prospects like Gustavsson, Formenton, Brannstrom and JBD to be voted high

I understand your point about Boucher/Formenton though, however I think people who have voted them at these spots see them as more than "third line forwards".

I think I'd have the top-10 like this at the moment :

1- Jake Sanderson
2- Shane Pinto
3- Ridly Greig
4- Erik Brännström
5- Jacob Bernard-Docker
6- Alex Formenton
7- Filip Gustavsson
8- Egor Sokolov
9- Tyler Boucher
10- Mads Sogaard

That being said, I'm still a bit undecided for this above as there's several good/pretty good prospects that aren't far behind like Logan Brown, Jarventie, Kleven, Crookshank, Ostapchuk, maybe even Thomson and Merilainen. In any case, we need to see what they'll all do this year.

I agree with you but I have been voting based on trade value because ultimately the league states what something is worth. The league continues to not think goalies prospects have much value. I believe JBD or Ridley have more trade value today than the goalies. I went Ridley because I believe he has a similar floor as JBD (bottom 6 forward/ 4th, 5th, 6th D-man) but because he is younger he has a slightly higher ceiling.
