In terms of ranking goalies separately, personally, I'm fine with the way it is right now. However, if most people want to rank them separately, I can make changes.

Might be interesting to have direct comparisons with goalies...seems hard for most to slot them against skaters and would provide a more focused discussion.

On another note I have an entirely new appreciation on how players slide in the draft.

I have voted Lajoie 3 or 4 times in a row now and at this point it seems he may well slip right out of the ranking entirely given the prospects left and previous comments.

He was getting more votes when it seemed a head to head against Jaros.

I dont know if I want to be right or rather all these players who are being picked ahead of him to be as good as the majority of voters believe...in my mind that means we have an amazing young group because I believe Lajoie will push to make the team this year and build off his previous success.

Definitely now is where a goalie should be falling in since I feel that at least one of the ones we have will turn out to be a solid 1A at a minimum.

But who that is, will likely split the vote enough for another prospect who tops out as a middle 6 will be the winner.

I don't see a lot separating the goalies; Hogberg is certainly the most NHL ready, Daccord and Gustavsson offer a nice mix of potential and are getting close to ready, and Sogaard has that high potential based on where he is as an 18 year old. You could make an argument for any of them to be our top G prospect imo.

Then we have guys like Chlapik, Davidsson, Abramov, Veronneau, Pinto, Crookshank, Paul, Tychonick and Lajoie. You could make a good argument for any of them.

I look back just one year, and our prospects 14 to 23 was Harpur, Gagne, Hogberg, Luchuk, Gruden, Crookshank, Nurmi, Perron, Paul and Englund. I like the current group's odds better than last year's.

Add rodewald. Not a typical prospect but hes only 25 and has 10 NHL games under his belt.

Davidsson may well crack the nhl this fall. Crazy that we might have him as 13th or 14th on this list. Probably our most unknown asset among the fans.

He's been getting my votes lately, but I understand why he's as low as he is on a fan forum list. 1. we've never seen him 2. He wasn't our draft pick (we always overrate draft picks) and 3. he's been off the radar in eurpoe.

But he's also one year away from almost making the Blue Jackets and didn't do anything that should hurt his value. So he'll be a ton of fun to follow in camp this year.

Suggestion : Tie-breaker with Gus, Abramov, Davidsson and Lajoie ?

I have seen this mention before and likely have repeated it myself, but you could probably say something similar about Chlapik who was the final cut for the Sens last year.

Between Abramov and Davidsson for me. Went with Abramov becuase he has a higher ceiling and is a bit younger. Davidsson could easily make the sens this year, but I have a feeling Abramov will have a huge breakout year in Belleville. At dev camp, he looked like the best forward after Batherson and Brown, so I guess we'll see.

Agreed. At least one of those goalies will likely be better than the available forwards, but I just don't know who. I'm really high on Daccord and Hogberg wasn't too much worse than Binnington in the AHL this year, so that's not a bad sign. Plus Gus and Sogaard are younger and have higher potential. We're actually in a pretty solid spot in terms of goaltending. Worst case, if they all flop by the time we're ready to contend, we trade for one. But I doubt we'll need that.

It's too difficult to pick one above any of the others right now. Ranking them in terms of readiness and ceiling is so much easier but still, even ranking them separately is super difficult in my opinion. These lists are basically flipped lol

NHL readiness: Hogberg, Daccord, Gus, Sogaard

Highest Ceiling: Sogaard, Gus, Daccord, Hogberg

I kinda hope both of those guys make the team along with Balcers. They're the oldest and the guys who can already play bottom 6 roles in the NHL.

Then run Abramov-Brown-Batherson and Formenton-Norris-Verroneau in the AHL.

I know Batherson is probably ready, but I don't see how more AHL time could hurt him or the team. He was pretty streaky last year, maybe he could push himself to be a bit more consistent in the AHL. Plus unless he's with Tkachuk and White, I'd rather him play with Brown and Abramov/Formenton/Paul.

I'm kinda biased tho cause I'm a big tank advocate this year and I think Brown and Batherson in the NHL full-time could really hurt the tank (it's not a bad problem, but why not get the top 5 pick and then bring all 3 into the NHL in 2020?)
