We seem to play to our copetition. Play well enough to keep it close with great teams, and play bad enough to grind out wins against lesser teams.

We're on pace for 379 times shorthanded (TS) this season. Not really close to worst. League worst TS, by season, according to NHL.com (with Sens TS in brackets):

After the lockout, we went from one of the most disciplined teams to a middle of the pack team, and starting around 08 we were getting shafted with PKs. Interestingly, seems like the league has significantly improved parity in terms of TS since the lockout (before, the gap between top and bottom was 150+ TS, now it's only about 100 TS).

How come the sens defense looks much better on the pk than 5 on 5

On the PK, you can ice it and don't have to worry about breakouts.



Anyway, good effort through two, the third we got a bit lazy and took some dumb penalties. Our PK bailed us out.
