Let's say Phillips realizes he's not really keeping up with the group and the Org thinks instead of scratching him, as much as he's done for the Sens, instead puts him on IR for soreness. It's a better way to go out than being scratched for x number of games, in my honest opinion.

Yes, this exactly. I'm just sad that for a guy who has been a warrior for the Sens this is the way he's going out. He should have called it before he signed that contract but I guess the upside is he got the record and now that he has it here we are.
