The Devils have been a contender all season, but have been unable to find any offense outside of Ryan Getzlaf. At least until three games ago. Alexander Semin, who had only 7 goals and 16 points in his first 29 games has suddenly decided to start playing like a super star.

It started two games ago against the Hurricanes when Semin had 2 goals and was named first star in a losing effort. He followed that up with a hat trick plus an assist in beating the Pens and was again named first star. Then today, Semin had a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win over the rival Islanders and was named second star.

If Semin can keep it going, the Devils will be hard to beat. Now if only Vanek can start scoring...
