TSN 1040 MAtt Sekeres who has broken some trades and rumors before just said on air that has heard that Markstrom has told his agent No to Edmonton or Detroit. Sekeres didnt really mention why but he said something along the lines of he doesnt want to sign with a rebuild or a "B" market team.

Sekeres then says Markstrom will have interest in signing in Calgary, Colorado and he has even heard Toronto.

Top priority is still to re-sign in Vancouver

Didn't Vancouver go hard at Lucic and Schultz and got turned down in favor of Edmonton (though no one wants Lucic now, that wasn't the case 4 years ago).

It's almost as if building a team by throwing big money at UFAs is a bad idea.

Even the Leafs who were doing cartwheels over signing Tavares probably regret it a bit now.

Tough sledding for Edmonton if they have Mcdavid and Drai and litterally still cant convince players to move there. They will have to build the team via drafting as it seems they are on a lot of no trade list or no sign list amongst the general players.
