Colome makes $5.3M this year. Span makes $9M this year. If no money was exchanged, the Rays save about $10M for the rest of the season.

Seattle needs bodies. They have a lot of injuries.

Interesting Tampa would trade off even more salary while they're one of the teams being sued for not spending enough.

Dee has been prepping to go back to 2B ever since the Cano news. Colome is far better as a setup guy in the 8th than Nicasio who has blown far too many games himself.

LAA and HOU need a good closer badly and SEA just took 1 of the available ones to make him a set-up guy.
