I just crunched numbers to see what would be Sens players production over 82 games

Code:
Erik Karlsson	82	16	67	84
Mike Hoffman	82	40	32	72
Bobby Ryan	82	26	45	71
Mark Stone	82	21	42	63
Kyle Turris 82	24	31	55
Mika Zibanejad	82	17	31	48
Milan Michalek	82	17	11	28
Jean-Gabriel Pageau 82	18	9	27
Shane Prince	82	5	21	26
Curtis Lazar	82	6	15	21
Zack Smith	82	15	4	19
Cody Ceci 82	6	13	19
Chris Wideman	82	11	3	14
Max McCormick	82	6	7	13
Marc Methot	82	4	8	12
Alex Chiasson	82	6	6	12
Chris Neil 82	4	5	9
Jared Cowen	82	0	8	8
Patrick Wiercioch 82	0	7	7
Mark Borowiecki	82	2	2	4

Hoffman (72) - Turris (55) - Ryan (71)
Michalek (28) - Zibanejad (48) - Stone (63)
Prince (26) - Pageau (27) - Lazar (21)
Chiasson (12) - Smith (19) - Neil (9)
McCormick (13)

Claesson (0) - Karlsson (84)
Methot (12) - Ceci (19)
Wiercioch (7) - Borowiecki (4)
Cowen (8) - Wideman (14)

Production-wise, this team lacks a solid 2nd line LW (MacArthur), so Michalek down the 3rd line would solidify that line, that would also bump someone else to the 4th line and solidify it as well. Ideally, the team would need a stronger 1st line center who produce a tad more.

And defense isn't producing at all outside of Karlsson. We need a #2 who can get 30-40 points.

That's not too shabby

Turris is having a rough time unfortunately, not disastrous but a bit of a step down.

Other than that it's about what you'd expect for this group (well Karlsson getting almost 90 points is still ridiculous)

I think Edler can solve a lot of our problems and is most realistic and most available defender.

I also think it's just a matter of time.

He's left handed. He plays LD, he is a legit top pairing guy and he can score 40 points. He's also only 29 and his corsi and advanced stats pretty good and he's actually been used in a lot of defensive situations in vancouver. It would likely also increase Ceci's points by another 5-10 points playing with shutdown like Methot or Edler.

Edler also would imo thrive like crazy playing behind Karlsson and not as the main go to go.

Edler-Karlsson
Methot-Ceci
Boro/Claesson-Wideman

Now that's a defense.

Exactly guys, we need another Methot but one that can also create offence (close to what Gonchar was when he was here). I like Edler as a possibility, any threads in the trade section about Edler to Ottawa?

And yeah a healthy MacArthur is badly missed, even more than I thought
