Alright so I'm doing this because I feel compelled to. Have it removed if unnecessary or breaks rules.
As the storm raged a sense of panic and fear of death overcame the disciples in the boat. They woke Jesus and asked "Don't you care?" And it was in that moment that he proclaimed that the tempest still itself. As we gather here in honor of Barbara, we pray for same heavenly father. Still our hearts so we may better honor her. Still her family so their last days may be spent in happiness and not grief. To contrast what happened that day, Christ later asked "Have you no faith?" For he alone had the power to command the winds and the sea. Let us take this moment as only each of us can as individuals allow this moment to be a demonstration of that faith. That in your loving grace we shall all be still and not allow loss to overcome us.
I didn't know Barbara. And in so doing it shows how each of us all has unseen battles. May this be a lesson to all of us that life is precious. And may none of us who knew her see this as a loss. For the kingdom of heaven is but only the greatest victory we can achieve in the next life. May we celebrate and honor her. May we toast and rejoice that whatever suffering she may have shall soon be no more. An invincible body that does not hurt, the joining of family she has never seen before or has lost on the way, a seat at the right hand of the father next to her name. May each tear be wiped clean, may each moment of pain be put upon the cross that you so bravely bared Lord Jesus. For no matter what happens, Barbara too will live again as you have.
Today we gather in the hardest of news. But may we celebrate the life that still is and the life still to come.
