Are the players kidding? In their letter back the little one they offer,

c) Replace NHLPA Revenue Sharing Plan with NHL Revenue Sharing Plan to share at least $88M in each year of the Agreement. Clubs may credit any payroll taxes paid against their revenue sharing contribution.[/B]

From one pocket to another, very clever we now also have a deduction for our NHL Salary Tax. Hmmmmmmm......................................

7. Indexing of Tax Rates and Payroll Minimums & Maximums – All dollar amounts would be in place for 2004-05 (pro-rated) and 2005-06. Dollar levels for tax rates, payroll minimums & maximums for subsequent years either constant or increased by % change in greater of either hockey related revenues or only the gate receipts and broadcasting segments of hockey related revenues from the 2005-06 base year.

Is this linkage? "If you guys make more money our cut goes up!"

Holy Cr*p Who's bull sh**ing who!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also see this as incentive to get into the taxed areas of the deal for some teams. Hey why not spend into the luxury tax, we will have to pay revenue sharing anyways, why not spend this money and write it off as revenue sharing essentially. Unless of course I misunderstood this. But if I didn't, its an invite for the big teams to spend all of their revenue sharing by keeping payroll in the tax thresholds.
