The Ehrhoff trade was a salary dump, one of the first in the NHL. Blame it on Wilson's desire to trade for Danny Fricken' Heatley.

Heatley produced in San Jose, but wasn't the playoff player the Sharks needed. Like I said, Ehrhoff should have been dumped to an irrelevant/weak Eastern Conference team. Then, it's less likely that guy comes back to directly haunt you.

The trade also sent Brad Lukowich to Vancouver, when he was just about out of the league. You would have to find an Eastern team willing to take both of them.
