I think this will be a make-or-break season for Merkley. If he is able to play at a very high level in the AHL and put up a bucket of points, then is likely to be an NHLer. If he struggles again, I don’t know if he’ll ever make it.
After watching most of his AHL games last season I have yet to see a guy who can make the NHL. He should plummet down this list of prospects.
