Long term? I think it’d be better for the “recently drafted at a high pick by a Canadian team” hype to wear down a bit

Hughes certainly looks like he could go beyond the potential Girard has shown, but needs to establish that more.

Defensemen potential are particularly hard to nail down early on.

I feel like this isn't fair - one is in the draft honeymoon stage and just had an electric WJC. The other his cutting his teeth playing low pairing minutes in the NHL.
