He died at home, and has been battling ALS for awhile. Love his plays, an iconic writer and actor. RIP

This is part 1 of 10 of Shepard's play True West, starring John Malkovich and Gary Sinise early in their careers (Malkovich has hair!). A good watch if you have the time/interest.

Yep, will always remember Shepard as Chuck Yeager in The Right Stuff, such a great film. I can still remember watching it in the theater in 1983 with my brother and father.

What's amazing is WWII ace Yeager is still alive in his 90's.

RIP Sam

This one hurts. He was amazing in everything he did. Wrote a ton of great plays, directed, wrote films, even wrote a song with Bob Dylan. Really sad he's gone. I've been watching a lot of his early stuff and he's just a huge presence no matter the size of his role.

One of the greatest playwrights of my life time. It was just a bonus that he developed his talents in other areas as well.
