Y'all would have turned on Morin after a few weeks when he got stripped a few times for turnovers leading to goals.
Then the mantra would be why are we playing this stiff over Hagg.
The player who isn't in the lineup is always the great hope. Until they play.

Meanwhile Friedman is the good soldier who has steadily improved in the AHL, has speed and plays a responsible game at RHD.
A fast undersized defensive oriented D-man won't attract the hype of a 6'7 230 lb D-man.
I’m glad to see you feel for the kid

What an unsurprising, yet still embarrassing take.

Maybe you should have a life.

I can feel bad for the kid losing his chance at a NHL career, but not consider it a tragedy in the same class as young players losing their career (and in some instances their life) to cancer, or having his career end without making the NHL and finding himself at 25 with no hockey future and broke to boot.

Morin got to the NHL, has financial security, and other than his knee, his health.
Sorry, I've seen too many people go through far worse.

ACL is a fairly rare injury in hockey all things considered. Gut wrenching for him to have it happen again so soon, and to the same knee. He should explore his medical options because that also shouldn’t happen.

It happened to Fabbri.

Would be nice if there was a spot for him in the organization after he's decided his playing career is over.

I was actually thinking of this, too. Look at ****ing Colby - it's not like the big fella needs any special skills, or any skills at all, to be an improvement on what we have in various roles. I'd personally be happy if he took over for McCrossin and just winged it, which would be better than the voodoo **** they seem to have been using for the past four decades.

EDIT:

Maybel he can replace McCrossin with his extensive injury background..

Great post.

If you really want to feel bad for a Flyer prospect:

The Dream | By Pascal Laberge

This kid has really been behind the 8 ball.

It's a matter of perspective, a tough break for Morin, but he'll rehab at the team's expense, he's still got another guaranteed year on his contract, and after that his tragedy will probably be to have to play on an AHL contract for a year or two to show he's 100% and get another shot at the NHL at 25 or 26. Meanwhile he has no financial worries.

Labarge on the other hand, is facing the end of his dream if he can't recover from injuries, with a ECHL salary and a questionable future and probably zero savings, and dealing with multiple family tragedies and hardship.

He probably just googled it.

The incidence of re-injury in the first two years following reconstruction is estimated to be 6 times greater than those who didn't suffer ACL injury.

He is under contract for another season and is RFA after that lol. Not sure why everyone thinks he is toast.

Figure 12 month recovery and he's not back until next December, and not 100% until next summer.
Flyers may have Zamula, Kalynuk, Wylie and Hogberg in the AHL next year.
In two years, York will probably be knocking on the door, and Millwood and Attard will be AHL possibilities.
Would they offer him a lowball RFA deal given the other options?

It’s funny. Hagg made the team he got sent down. Injuries happened. He got recalled. Hextall flip and called him out for being injured and was playing through it. Did what hextall ask and nursed it back and played would reinsure so sat out. Then hextall called out players for not playing through injuries. So he come back for the AHL playoffs not in game shape and blows his knee out.

Funny is the wrong word ironic is probably better
