Confirmed with Link: Sam Lafferty signs ELC; Reports to WBS

Lafferty has 8 goals and 22 points in 31 NCAA games this year. He had 13 goals and 35 points in 31 NCAA games last year. Anyone know what happened to cause this decrease?

More eyebrow raising is that 3 of his 8 goals was that hat trick recently.

Yeah, Brown doesn’t hockey good but it looks like he’s factored in on more goals in 2016-17

In 2016-17, 13-22-35, he was 1st in points, 1st in assists and 2nd in goals. 7 more points than the guy behind him. The team scored 66 goals.

In 2017-18, 8-14-22, he was 1st in points, 1st in assists and 2nd in goals. 4 more points than the guy behind him. The team scored 67 goals.

He led his team in scoring the last 2 seasons. Your totals aren't going to turn heads when #2-5 produce 18, 16, 15, and 15 points in 28, 31, 29, and 31 games, respectively.

Sure but that has nothing to do with you playing against him at age 16. I'm not saying he's anything to get too excited about, but he put up solid points in the last 2 years of his college career (0.92 PPG). Connor Sheary, for example, put up 0.81PPG in his last 2 years of college. The difference is that Sheary had a standout sophomore year while Lafferty only put up 10 points in 31 games his sophomore year.

That isn't to say Lafferty becomes an NHL'er, but his latter 2 years are pretty solid production. The question is whether his production was benefited or hurt from playing on a shit team. I can't pretend I watched enough of his game to really know.

David Perron was playing in Midget B at 16. Some players improve faster than others. When I played in Midget A, a guy on my team made the jump straight from A to AAA.
