All we got was the Torono Marlies GM saying he couldn't understand why an NHL franchise wouldn't want a player of Gagner's quality on their farm to help their prospects develop. He felt Gagner was perfect for that role and that's the best way to develop your prospects. You match them up with highly skilled, experienced players. Veterans was actually the word he used, to give your prospects the best chance to develop as quickly as possible.
Well there is your problem.... The canucks with their infinite wisdom have already stated that you can not have vets better than the prospects on an AHL team.
Johnson stated that several times over the summer while signing a bunch of career ECHL players to contracts, all the while beating his chest and patting himself on the back about what a great job he was doing...
So they surrounded what few prospects they have with 4th line crap checking forwards and somehow think that said prospects will actually improve..... But instead, they are failing miserably......
I can not believe how poorly the management is in the Canucks organization... just a complete joke of a franchise......
