He was basically lied to. If he was told "we're probably gonna move up to 2 and have you compete with Carson Wentz for a starter's job", he doesn't sign the contract.

They didn't know that was going to happen at the time. Reality is, if Miami doesn't trade spots with them for Maxwell/Alonso then the trade for #2 doesn't happen.

Eagles should have franchised him and dealt with it.

Agree 100%. Wouldn't have cost them too much more than what they gave him anyway.
