I think it just looks a little high now. I think everyone was ok with 4x4. But we got an extra year and he supplies a physical presence that we didn’t have. He’s going to play with Huberdeau. Very minimum he’s putting up 50 points.

I agree, it's a lot of money for a handful of good games.

That said, Bennett looked rejuvenated in a Panthers uniform. He also found chemistry playing in his natural position with Huberdeau. Zito is likely banking on that and had to give more money if he wanted more term.

If Zito signs Bennett to a 2-year deal for $3.5 Million and Bennett is almost a PPG player during that contract he'll be looking at $6-7 Million by the end of it.

Let's hope it pays off. I think it will.

Like people have said… Maybe 500k or 800k too high for me… But I expected a three-year deal, so I guess Zito had to pay for that fourth-year, and Bennett with his agents really wanted to cash-in on his amazing (albeit short) tenure with us…

Still very pleased with that signing…

Now sign Reinhart to 6M or less, and extend Barkov, then we pop the champagne !

I would have been OK if Duclair got this contract.

I just think Bennett got slight too much money. Term for his age is fine. I just think we paid slightly too much for WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN a hot streak.


You gotta think that Barkov deal is done though with these deals just flying through.

Reinhart will get $6 million per IMO. He had a great season, in which he was making $5.2 million. 4/22 would be great, but we are probably looking at something closer to $6per. Him and Barkov should be an incredible line, of both sides of the ice.
