The Salavat Yulaev 2014/2015 season will be an interesting one. They have been placed in the most Eastern Division. It's one of the weakest divisions so reaching the playoffs shouldn't be a problem. The biggest rival Ak Bars Kazan is in another division. The team hast lost many interesting players, including future star goalie Andrei Vasilevski, overpaid forward Sergei Zinoviev and dynamic players such as Nikita Filatov and Igor Mirnov. This year will be a "budget year" for Salavat Yulaev, after having spent a lot of money on mediocre players the last couple of years. New interesting players are Alexander Kutuzov and Igor Skorokhodov. Keep an eye open for Alexander Pankov, is this the year when he finally become a star player?

Well regarding Pankov - easy no  Otherwise, I really feel SU aren't done in the market and there is still plenty of big names there. And their recent inactivity to me is a sign they are going after the biggest and will settle for something else if they strike out.
