I don't think it would have helped the Leafs go for trades because of a 2 mil increase. Sure, its going to give a little relief to teams that are tight. But, I just don't think Lou plans on doing much other than signing a UFA. Protecting Leivo gives him the option of moving JVR but if Lou was going to do something, he would have done it before the trade freeze today.
