There, Skinner is signed. You can all STFU about signing him now.

Look at that...$9mil. Yeah...totally not the 7-8mil everyone kept clamoring for.

We're not getting Duchene either.

Phil also has had the luxury of you know playing on much better teams than Skinner.

Skinner put up 37 goals with Viktor Rask as his center.

Kessel had prime JVR and Bozak at that age.

And it isn’t 2.2 mil. Kessel’s cap hit is 8 mil.

I agree Kessel is the better player, but Skinner’s contract is not surprising.

The Pens don't pay 8.0. Moot point. Nontheless.

And people think Phil isn't worth 6.8..... lulz

Yeah I don't understand the mentality of saying we're screwed if we keep Kessel or that he's a net negative to the team.

He's a bad fit 5v5, no question about that. But he does put up a lot of points, and that does count for something. If we don't get actual value for him we will regret it. He's not addition by subtraction territory like JJ is.

But, that’s twisting facts. Kessel is an 8 mil cap hit. Obviously he has been value for us and is still IMO worth 8 mil on a team that can utilize him in their top six.

In a league where Bobby Ryan and Evander Kane are making 7+, Skinner at 9 mil is fair value.

I do not care nor count what Toronto pays him. That no longer exists to the Pens. So... no it does not count.
