Offseasn tourney updates:

-Lennonx and Perfetti both make Canada's Hlinka roster. Congrats to both.

-Jenkins cut from the Team USA's WJSS roster after the first week. Wilde remains.

Heading down to Plymouth on Saturday. Hopefully they have him playing in the finale against Canada.

Biased against Jenkins or reality. Most of the players were all taken in the NHL draft ahead of him. Only 3 OHL players, most from NCAA or the USHL. That seems to be the standard operating procedure for USA hockey at this level.

When does Busdeker or Gilmour go? Will it be before camp or keep them for start of season and into Christmas.

Could be too many if Coskey and Prostevov are back.

Whenever they get the best offer for them and we know who's going to be back? Not worth selling for pennies on the dollar. Not to mention never know what's up with Prosvetov or Coskey. Probably wont know on them till after NHL camps. Lots of balls in the air.

Even if Coskey or Prosvetov are no shows the nucleus is strong. Perfetti, Jenkins, Giroux, Porco drafted players on the team. Throw in OA Gilmour (drafted) and Busdeker OA nice top 6?
The D with the chance of Wilde returning is slim, just my opinion. Means we need a top D. #1 on the list for DD. Solovyov could make a difference and the addition of Smith and Punnett.Webb, Lemieux and Millman so some more experience is needed another 00. Can't wait until 1st puck drop.

Don’t forget the rookie line of Cardwell-Bloom-Codd. All three are pretty swift with the puck and have top end speed. Not bad for a fourth line.

Your post looks like you are saying that Perfetti is drafted, he isn't. Also Millman is drafted but you didn't mention that. Just trying to help.

Thanks BPFox, you are correct. Perfetti will be a 1st rounder next year and Webb was also drafted. To many wobbly pops.

wobbly pops....? I like that.

This team is going to need a Wilde high end replacement. I say that because Bode's future development isn't at the OHL level. He needs to get out with bigger stronger players who will take his head off a few times to break him of all of his bad habits. Toying around at the OHL level will only delay that education.

As much as I much as I like his play, I would be content with a more Hronek type player to fill that position.

Good morning Saginaw fans. Seems like you're looking for D help. Here in Ottawa we need forwards as it look our whole D from last year might be back. So we have 8 D including our first rounder Matier. Rumors are Peric has asked out to get more icetime. So how about this Gilmour, Busdeker and a third for Wilson and Hoefenmayer. 2 OA' for 2 Oa's. Wilson is a solid shutdown D and can protect his teamates. If he's back Hoef is one of the top 2-3 offensive D in the league. Then Peric moves into our top four so it solves that issue for us.

It would still leave us witn an OA problem. We need a 2000 not an OA.

Looks like Bode will be playing for Bridgeport in the AHL. He has had a good camp and looking good at the Summer Showcase. Would love to see him back but for his overall development it is for the best.

Not having seen the Showcase in person, but of friends who did, they admitted he's still being Bode...careless, jumping plays and letting his skating skill make up for his errors.

I am curious is he the main Dman on their power play...those who went, let us know.

Bode was not on 1st PP and didn't see much TOI. He had his usual pinch and get burned but had some good work with a nice play on his assist. It was on TSN5. He needs to play smarter and improve his D. It will be an ongoing problem that needs to improve on a game to game basis.

Yeah and that's not something you can work on in the AHL really. That jump is substantially greater than people think. It's not just a simple next step up.
