2 assists for Perfetti in the first means he's now at 100 pts for the year.

Now only the second Spirit player to pull that off. One more point and he'll have the single season record for Saginaw.

Well we have NB this afternoon, 5 pt out of 6 is always a good road trip. NB is not an automatic 2pts so the boys have to come out flying. Our Goaltending has to heat up along with the team D. We are giving up to many goals and if we want to compete with the elite teams we have to get much better with our D. No question we can score, JMO but Lazary has to make team D and PP his main concerns to improve before the playoffs.

PowerPlay makes zero sense.....too much talent for it not to be clicking. By the way, who designs the PP? Is it Laz or another coach?

Perfetti's goal in the first officially gives him the sinlge season pts record in Spirit history. Already had the single season assist record. Only thing left is the goal record. At 35 and would need 48. Unlikely but would be cool to see him pull off all three.

Come to think of it, Giroux is at 39 now and may be more realistically in striking distance of that goal record.

6-3 win today gets us the division lead again after Kitchener finally ended Flint's historic run last night. 5/6 pts on the road trip and the division. Stuff to work on but a nice weekend.

What has bloom looked like. Looked good here in North Bay, was great with some kids in warm up

Bloom has scored 3-G 3-A 6-Pt in his last 4 games. Equalling half of his total points all year. Being on the 4th line on a offensive heavy team doesn't give Josh the quality TOI he needs to put up some better numbers.
At 6'1, he is still growing and maturing into a very good prospect. Definitely gets more ice next season along with added responsibilities.
Possible top 3 lines next season? Hoping Jenkins and Giroux are back, maybe Antropov.
Giroux Perfetti Trade
Jenkins Suzuki Antropov
Bloom Duhart Baber
Codd Bulovs

Absolutely 0 chance Giroux is back next season. Jenkins maybe (60/40 he's here) just because injuries and such have hurt his production this season. And both Suzuki/Perfetti will have extended looks for their pro teams. Probably each get a handful of games and then off to WJC. Might not see either until Dec or Jan. Even if they both come back, there's going to be about 2 and half months where guys like Codd, Bloom etc are going to be asked to step up.

Before WJC should be something like:

Bloom-Jenkins-Baber
Katic-Duhart-Codd
Import-Antropov-Draft
??? 4th line of prospects/draft picks

Offense is going to HAVE to come from those guys. They're going to get chances in spades to start next year and that's going to pay off down the road hopefully.

NHL training camps are in September and the World Junior Tournament isn't until December, with their training camp in mid-December. There's lots of time between the two so I'm sure we'll see both of them play several games, unless they make their NHL team out of camp. Not too many 18 or 19 year old players make it to the NHL.

Just giving you hell. You're correct though Sarnia loves to drop the gloves.
We drop a lot of games too!!
(but remember, we gave you Kodola for a bag of pucks...AND a coach that’s better than our own!)

Congrats to DJ on the 4 goal performance last night. Kid works his tail off and deserved a pay off like that. Also a solid weekend for Lennox. That'll be good to get him some confidence back. Point up on Flint with a game in hand. Decent weekend again.

Agreed that Giroux is gone for sure. Heard that the Islanders really like Jenkins so instead of 60/40 staying it might be 60/40 going.

it will be interesting to see who the 3 Overagers are next year ? Heard King is a lock on D for one of the spots but not sure where other two land.

Webb, Cosky and Buzzdecker will be VERY hard to replace
