No Pin, not doom and gloom, but concerned. In the last few games Prosvetov has had to stand on his head, and you mention the number of A chances given up. That holds true in the London game and certainly the same against the 67's. The five in, flood the zone offensive system is an outright dangerous game plan. Even you have agreed that to play run and gun against better teams is a mistake. There are less then 20 games to go and we're still bouncing around lines, PP and PK units. Nobody has yet to tell Hronek's replacement to sit back and play some solid D.

So...maybe it all comes together at the end, or, maybe it doesn't.

I said being aggressive against better teams is fine if they can excecute their passing better.

And I say winning in the stock market is fine if all your picks pan out... We will see as to whether or not your theory holds up.

Played better tonight. Close score was because of Lennox. He's going to want this game back. That's not to take away from what he'll be in the future but he was not sharp early tonight. Did recover with some great saves in the third so credit to him for hanging in there.

Also, Caleb Everett was out on the ice for warmups. Don't think I saw him play but I think they're easing him in. Good to see him out there even if only for a few minutes of practice.

Since when is it goaltender interference when the goalie is playing the puck 20 feet from the net?

    Rule 69.4

A goalkeeper is not “fair game” just because he is outside the goal crease. The appropriate penalty should be assessed in every case where an attacking player makes unnecessary contact with the goalkeeper. However, incidental contact will be permitted when the goalkeeper is in the act of playing the puck outside his goal crease provided the attacking player has made a reasonable effort to avoid such unnecessary contact.

Hard to say that Porco intended to make contact with him. He clearly cut to his right trying to go between the goalie and the net. The goalie turned trying to return to the net and the 2 made contact. If Porco was trying to run him he would have killed him at the speed he was moving.

Getting Everett back in the lineup is going to help the D. Now healthy again he is a top 4 talent but that will take some time to get back to were he was. With a healthy Davis and Everett
    Webb-Wilde
    Murray-O'Grady
Millman-Everett Davis Lemieux If Davis is healthy swap him for Millman

If the recent acquisitions can start to play like they can and we concentrate on our getting the puck out of our zone and limit odd man rushes. With 18 G left time to strengthen our weaknesses and stick with some solid lines and D pairings.

Me thinks there are a lot of "ifs" in that plan? You kind of remind me of London two years ago who blew up the team come deadline and brought in some serious talent. We just never came together as a team? Doesn't mean you won't but the changes made were high end talent and really changed the chemistry. Good Luck the top 4-5 teams in the West will be decided by who is hot at the right time IMO the talent levels are close. Would have loved to see some of your additions in our neck of the woods but we were out of cards when it came time for shopping!

They paid Preuter, Penman 5-2nds + 5-3rds + 2-7ths for McLeod, Tippett. We were robbed.
Saigeon 2-2nds + 1-3rd and Hugg for Michnac and a 2nd. As a different solution.
Lose Michnac but gain Penman, Preuter 2-2nds + 4-3rds +2-7ths l hope they can start to win us a game here and there. 7 goals in a combined 26G is not acceptable for what we paid. Time to get it together and start leading by example.

I think the emergence of Millman made Penman a trade piece. And someone had to be moved to get guys like McLeod or Tippett. Fans have been screaming for so long for us to finally ante up and bring IN talent at the deadline. I still trust those guys to pick it up eventually.

On this we are in agreement. Millman has done a great job and when Lemieux has been brought up likewise, so Penman became expendable. Hopefully Everett will round into playing shape. Hated to loose Katic , but Cardwell and Baber have the speed that we lost with Prueter and Stepien, making a faster, better skating 4th line.

Spirit beat the Spits 4-1. Cole Coskey had 2 goals giving him 30 on the year. Giroux, Gilmour added singles. Wide and Perfetti had 3 pts each and Prosvetov stopped 31of 32 shots.

6-3 over London it feels like Tippett is getting used to things in Saginaw.

Making only the 2nd trip to the Dow to see the Attack and Spirit play and the only time this season, wondering if any posters will be in attendance who are Spirit fans who will be attending the game at the Dow that night?

If so PM me, Owen Sound is bringing a fan bus to both Saginaw and Flint for the weekend for 2 out of the 3 game road swing they have to play.

Hopefully we get a warm welcome reception from Spirit fans who post here
