Despite everything last year, he still had a good shot that could find the back of the net on the powerplay. I would expect him still to produce on the PP, and that's valuable to us in its own right. Maybe not for his salary, but it is. He is good at keeping puck possession and would be great on a 3rd line with Berglund and Sobotka/Wilson/Girgensons and just play hard to get in a shutdown role. I hope the coach sees it this way too. Only downside to that is this line I propose is the one you'd always want to put out right after a failed power play, and if he's dogging it, then that'll get screwed up. Hopefully having two actual PP units this year, we won't see Eichel's unit out there for 80% of the time anymore.
